Getting started with Sosta

From sign-up to a live website. No tech background, at your own pace.

Good to know

The editor is free. You can build your entire website with us, preview it and add content — all without paying a cent. Only when going live or inviting workers will we ask you to pick a plan. The industry calls it the sunk-cost effect — with us: your time investment pays off because the tool actually delivers.

Step by step

1

Create your account

Head to sosta.app/signup and sign up. You need an email address and a password. No credit card at sign-up.

2

Establishment master data

Right after sign-up we ask for your establishment's master data:

  • Name (e.g. "Boutique Müller")
  • Type (brothel, apartments, single flat, self-hosted, event)
  • City + address (for slot discovery — optional)
  • Size (small/medium/large — affects pricing tier)
3

Open the website editor

Click "Website" in the sidebar. When you open this for the first time, we automatically create a site using the Boutique Classic template for you — with 5 default blocks: Hero, About, Setcards, Hours, Contact.

Click "Open editor". You land in a two-column view: blocks on the left, block editor on the right.

4

Adjust the hero block

Click the hero block in the left list. The editor appears on the right. Change headline and subheadline to your own wording. Saving is automatic.

5

Add an about-us text

Click the About-us block. Write (or paste from your old site) a short text. Sosta's warm boutique-hotel tone works well: tell who you are, what your place feels like, who comes to you.

Tip: AI helps with writing

If writing copy is hard for you: connect Sosta later with ChatGPT or Claude via an AI connector. You then say e.g. "Write me a warm About block for a boutique house family-run since 1998" — and get a draft you can use or adjust.

6

Pick a subdomain or set up a custom domain

Go to Website → Settings. By default your site has a Sosta subdomain (e.g. boutique-mueller.sosta.app).

If you have your own domain (e.g. deinhaus-mueller.de): enter it under "Custom domain" and follow the DNS setup guide for your host.

7

Check the preview

In the editor click "Open live preview". You see your site as it will look. This preview URL is not indexed (Google does not see it).

Walk through the site like a visitor: does the copy read well? Are the opening hours correct? Is the contact right?

8

Go live — free

When everything fits, go to Website → Go live. Here you see a pre-publish checklist. When every item is green, click "Go live".

Going live costs nothing: your website on sosta.app is part of the free BASIS tier — permanently, no plan required.

You only need PRO (package from €9.99/month, 30 days free) once you want the worker module: worker profiles, shift booking, automatic setcard sync, custom domain.

9

Invite workers

Go to Roster. Here you create setcards. For each setcard you can invite the worker — she gets a magic link by email and can maintain her profile herself in the Talents PWA (talents.sosta.app).

Once she has set up her profile, you can book shifts with her (in Shift booking) — the setcard then appears automatically live on your website while the shift is on.

10

Optional: set up an AI connector

If you use ChatGPT, Claude Desktop or Gemini: go to AI connectors and create an API key. With it you can manage your Sosta site in natural language — many tenants love this.

Example prompts:

  • "Change the opening hours on Friday to 14:00 to 02:00."
  • "Which shifts are confirmed today?"
  • "Write me 3 suggestions for the About block."

When you get stuck

Sosta is built for self-onboarding, but we know — tech is not for everyone. Just write to us at hallo@sosta.app with your specific problem (a screenshot is great). We reply within one business day, often directly.

If you want a personal setup: a 90-minute video call with us costs €149 once. We walk through every step together and you can ask questions directly.
