Set up your own domain
So your Sosta website is reachable under your own URL (e.g. deinhaus-müller.de instead of boutique.sosta.app), you add a DNS record at your host. A one-time effort.
How it works
At your domain provider (host) you create a so-called CNAME record. It says: "If someone calls my domain, route it to Sosta." Sosta then serves your website under your own URL. The TLS certificate is set up automatically — your visitor sees the green padlock in the browser.

An apex domain is the domain without a subdomain (e.g. deinhaus.de). A subdomain has something in front (e.g. www.deinhaus.de).
Some hosts do not allow CNAME on the apex domain. In that case you use an ANAME or ALIAS record instead. If that is also not possible, fall back to a www subdomain.

If your host is not on the list: the principle is the same everywhere — set a CNAME record to cname.sosta.app. Write to us at hallo@sosta.app if you need help — we know most DE hosts and can guide you by phone.
When does the change become visible?
DNS changes usually need 15 minutes to 2 hours to become active worldwide. With some hosts and in cache-heavy networks it can take up to 24 hours.
Sosta detects automatically as soon as your DNS is correct and obtains the TLS certificate (HTTPS padlock). You do not have to do anything — we notify you as soon as your site is live under your custom domain.
In the meantime your site stays reachable under your Sosta subdomain — visitors notice no outage.
